Since Billboard introduced the Hot Trending Songs chart just two months ago, K-pop acts have largely dominated the ranking, both by claiming the No. 1 spot and by filling a majority of the spaces every frame. During the short time the list has been published, a handful of the biggest names from that field have managed to land several wins, while others are just getting started with their initial placement.
This time around, a brand new entrant in the space lands on the tally for the first time, and in doing so, they join an exclusive (but growing) group of all-female acts that have the world’s attention.
Brand new K-pop girl group IVE appears on this week’s Hot Trending Songs chart for the first time with their tune “Eleven.” The single, their first as a band, opens at No. 4, earning the loftiest start of the frame. IVE is now just the fifth South Korean girl group to land on the tally, matching some of the biggest and best there have ever been.
